Vital is a live contemporary dance and music performance from nipaluna-based Nelipot Collective. We question what enables us to be grounded and the consequences of losing that feeling. The dynamic music and dance then explores how women creating and working together can maintain the counterbalance between the environment and society.
Creative development
Vital grew from our feeling of losing groundedness and connection during COVID. During creative development we explored societal and personal elements that contributed to these feelings and reflected on cultural, societal, and environmental elements that ground us.
We examined individualism and how common goals can be achieved when human connections and bonds are strengthened. We kept returning to key themes of counterbalance, building and women working with women. Ultimately, we each return to the grounding we receive from Mother Gondwana. This grounding is vital for a world where there is counterbalance between the environment and human society.
Performances
