Nelipot Collective is a Tasmanian-based contemporary performance collective working across dance, music, and interdisciplinary forms. We create place-based work grounded in the community and environment of nipaluna/Hobart and surrounds. Through movement, music, and collaborative creation, we explore human–environment relationships, climate change, ecological loss, and the broader impacts of the Anthropocene era. Our practice centres storytelling that examines the complex intersections between individuals, communities, and the natural world.
Mission
Nelipot Collective creates collaborative, place-based contemporary performance grounded in lutruwita/Tasmania. Working across dance, music and interdisciplinary forms, we develop works that explore human–environment relationships, climate change, ecological loss and regeneration through embodied storytelling.
Our mission is to:
- create work rooted in landscape, community and lived experience
- foster shared authorship through collaborative creative practice
- engage audiences emotionally and physically with environmental ideas
- support dialogue, reflection and connection through artistic participation
- build partnerships that strengthen the role of the arts within ecological and community conversations
We work with respect for the muwinina and palawa people, acknowledging their enduring connection to Country and continuing to learn from the knowledge and relationships that sustain this place.
